I am a fully qualified and highly experienced Child and Adolescent Therapist, with a background in child and family social work. I offer child and family therapies and consultation services across the Greater Manchester and Cheshire area. My core therapy training is in child centred Play Therapy and Psychotherapy (Interpersonal Psychotherapy),though I have since completed further training in other therapeutic modalities which I incorporate within the services I offer to children and families.

Alongside my private practice in Hale and I hold long term and short term contracts with schools, various local authorities and specialist third sector services.

I have experience of working within schools, specialist services and in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health services (CAMHS).

My approach is child centred, informed by psychodynamic thinking. In my approach I draw upon a wide range of professional and personal experience of understanding and supporting the needs of children and adolescents.

My background of working with children and families as a therapeutic social worker in a number of different settings and subsequent experience as a therapist has enabled me to see the value of systems theory as a framework for understanding and supporting children and their families.

In my view and experience having an understanding of child in context is as important and considering isolated individual factors, their behaviours and well-being are influenced by their interconnected systems, including family, community, and society.

It is my view that working collaboratively with parents, whilst holding children's confidentiality, is crucial to the therapeutic process. Furthermore, I have found that there can be great value in establishing some kind of join up with schools and other public services within the child's network.

I am  committed to offering a personalised child centred service that has integrity, is effective, inclusive and is empathic.

I am registered with the of Play Therapists (BAPT) whose register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) and although I no longer practice as a Social Worker I remain on the register of Social Work England. I am a member of the Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH).

I am an associate therapist for Adoption Matters, The Retreat clinics and hold a long term contract in a school in Greater Manchester.

I am an approved provider of therapy services for a number of regional adoption services and fostering teams.
