Children's Therapy Services in the North West

Welcome to North West Children’s Therapy — a specialist child and family Psychotherapy service offering evidence-based therapeutic support for children, their families, and the professionals who care for them.

We provide a warm, safe, and child‑centred therapeutic space for children, adolescents and families when when life feels emotionally heavy or confusing. 

We work with children and young people experiencing:

  • Diffiiculties with regards anxiety and mood
  • Bereavement and loss.
  • Health concerns.
  • Emotional overwhelm and dysregulation.
  • Developmental challenges and neurodivergence.
  • Trauma or difficult life experiences.
  • Attachment and relational difficulties.

  • Family stresses and transitions.

We support families across Greater Manchester and Cheshire, and the wider North West.

 Play Therapy                                                                                       

A BAPT Registered Play Therapist ®                                                      Play Therapy is an therapeutic approach for children and young people.  It uses the power of play and creative resources to support exploration, healing and growth in children and young people. Through play or the use of creative art materials, children and young people can express themselves, process emotions, and develop important skills. 

 Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)

 Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT-A) is treatment for young people that focuses on improving their communictation, strengthening relationships and developing an understanding of emotional patterns, to improve mental health.

 Parent-Child relationship and Family Therapy                                  Therapies that support connection, co-regulation and communication between caregivers. These approaches enable families to navigate emotional and behavioural challenges together. The therapies can be tailored to the needs of the individual family, which may shift over time. 

 Psychotherapy with a focus on Life Story.                                         Within a safe and predictable psychotherapy space, children and young people are supported to explore and process their early life experiences.

 Consultation and support for Parents & Professionals.          Supportive sessions offering a reflective space  think about family life, a child’s needs, and any worries you or they may be experiencing.

 All therapy services can be offered to schools and other agencies.
